Packing Up Our Life And Moving Forward

Ronnie and I have both been so busy these last couple months. We are very close to leaving our home. Finally once and for all, off of Applegate Drive. For those of you that don’t know, we have lived on this street twice. We used to own the house right next door. All the BBQ’S and Duckworth bashes we have thrown in Oregon are over. Oh my gosh we have had so much fun in these 2 homes! Some of the best years of my life have been spent on Applegate Drive. We are really going to miss our Oregon friends.

We have sorted and sorted boxes and storage containers and I believe we will leave with just under 1/2 of what we owned 2 months ago. What a relief to downsize. Packing is very difficult for me emotionally. It is a constant reminder of when I left my mother’s at age 15. I left with NOTHING but the clothes on my back. My life started at 15 years old when it comes to mementos. I still wonder what she did with all my possessions. Anyway, its hard going through every piece of paperwork, school report cards, and childhood treasures I kept of my youngest son. They are all in safe keeping now. All the photo’s are sorted and ones that were meaningless we let go of.

While packing I decided to watch a few TV shows I had recorded. There are only two shows I watch each season, Grimm and Chicago Fire. Outside of those, its just sports mainly football and of course basketball. I do record special interviews, I recorded the Elizabeth Smart interview with Meridith Vieira. What a tear jerker that was. My heart broke for that poor woman, and it really put my life’s problems in perspective. I admire her and her strength, what an amazing woman Elizabeth has become after all she suffered at the hands of those psychopaths. Her attitude is so positive and she has a wonderful husband now, just like my Ronnie that will love her and support her.

The bubble wrapping is almost over, my art work is next to be packed, and then the furniture will be cleared out. When its over, I believe the happy moments we look back upon will fill our hearts and the painful memories will fade. God is good, and has provided everything we need for this move. Everyday the universe and God opened another door to make this new journey possible without much struggle.

Ronnie and I have so much to be thankful for, especially our friends and also ,my blog followers. I look forward to posting about positive adventures in the future. Its time to take lemons and make lemonade. Sending all of you love and gratitude.
